An International Golf Diplomacy Event

The Friendship Cup is an annual golf event that brings together teams from Scotland and Utah for a "home and home" friendly competition, with the location alternating between the two countries. Conceived to foster a spirit of camaraderie and "golf diplomacy".

More than just a golf tournament, the Cup is a testament to the power of the game to build international bonds, with participants enjoying a week of shared experiences, including sightseeing and charitable activities, in addition to the competition.

Scotland's Historic Golfing Relics

Sacred Artifacts of Scotland's Ancient Game

Our heritage artifacts, kindly supplied by our member clubs are now proudly on display in their new home at Sand Hollow Resort, Utah.

The ancient game of golf was born on the windswept links of Scotland's east coast, a region of dramatic shores and coastal dunes. The pioneers of the sport—men of passion and vision—first played with simple, hand-crafted treasures. They wielded hickory-shafted clubs, each one a unique work of art shaped by the hands of master craftsmen. They struck "feathery" balls, tiny leather pouches stuffed with compressed feathers that flew with an elegant grace. These humble artifacts and the early club makers who forged them tell a story not just of sport, but of a heartfelt bond between man, nature, and the coastal landscape that gave life to a timeless tradition.
